Peter Jackson's "The Lord of the Rings" Trilogy used NZ's awe-inspiring natural landscape in the making of the films.  Between 2001 and 2004 NZ Post produced a series of stamps and miniature sheets featuring many of the characters and events from the movies.

These were followed between 2012 and 2014 with "The Hobbit" trio of films, with a series of stamps and miniature sheets for these.
